Apples and Log Cabins in Vermont

At Sterling Ridge Log Cabins, September in Vermont means a remarkable change of seasons and an abundant crop of APPLES! Vermont hosts countless varieties of apples grown here, which make perfect way to celebrate the bounty and beauty of fall in Vermont.

An apple a day may keep the doctor away, but why stop at just one? The orchards near Sterling Ridge Log Cabins are brimming with juicy apples this time of year, just ripe for the picking! And munching and baking and cider-making…

In Williston, the Adams Apple Orchard and Farm Market has something for everyone this September and throughout the fall. From its humble beginnings a quarter of a century ago as a small apple orchard, it has grown into a country farm offering quality produce, baked goods, specialty products, and even crafts and toys! If you’re a music lover, plan to visit the Adams Apple Orchard and Farm Market on September 19th when Roots 7, a Vermont a cappella group, will perform two afternoon shows with the orchard as a backdrop for their beautiful melodies.

The Chapin Farm and Orchard in Essex, Vermont is also just a short drive from our cozy cabins at Sterling Ridge.  Offering several varieties of apples, the folks at the Chapin Farm also invite you to  watch them make cider using their renovated antique press. Looking for something with a little more kick? They also host one or two cider pressings towards the end of the season for people that want to make their own hard cider.

Like Sterling Ridge Resort and Log Cabins, apple orchards are a perfect destination for families. Located on an island in scenic Lake Champlain, The Allenholm Farm has everything from a “Petting Paddock,” to delicious homemade pies. Their specialty is a soft-serve treat known as a Maple Creemee, is made with pure Vermont maple syrup. And did we mention, apples?

So bring your family to spend a few days in one of our cabins and together take advantage of all Vermont has to offer this September. It’s as American as apple pie!

Summer Living at Sterling Ridge

Looking for a Vermont resort with pool? Pool? Yes! At long last… it’s summer at Sterling Ridge Log Cabins in Vermont!  There were times during this last winter when we doubted we’d ever see those lazy of summer again, too—but the sun is out, and we are, too!

There is something so wonderfully carefree about the warmer weather; something so rejuvenating about leaving the house (or, even better, the log cabin!) without boots and hats and layers upon layers of clothing; something beautifully childlike about the joy that summer brings.

At Sterling Ridge Resort and Log Cabins, we savor the beautiful summer days in Vermont and invite you to join us in enjoying all this area has to offer! There are so many ways to enjoy the great outdoors here; we hardly know where to begin…

The snows of winter helped to feed the Lamoille River this spring. Canoe or kayak down the Lamoille at your leisure-take in the sights; pause for an old fashioned picnic along its banks, or plunge into the cool waters. Vermont Canoe and Kayak offers many options, and we have paddleboards, too! Check out the Sterling Ridge Resort and Log Cabins Stay and Paddle package. It’s like having your cake and eating it, too!

Nothing appeals to the kid in us as much as a swimming pool on a hot summer day. A Vermont resort with a pool? Yes! We’ve got that covered, too! Whether for a quick dip, an afternoon of non-stop paddling (and the occasional cannonball), or just lounging with a book pool-side, our pool is ready and waiting!

Not every activity revolves around water at Sterling Ridge Resort. For landlubbers and animal-lovers craving a fun-in-the-sun activity, might we suggest horseback riding? Horseback riding in the Green Mountain foothills is another memorable way to take in the breathtaking scenery of the meadows, woods and mountains. Lajoie Stables in Jeffersonville is a family owned business offering guided tours for all riding levels. Giddy up!

Summer comes and goes so quickly! Join us at Sterling Ridge to make this summer your most memorable ever.

Sterling Ridge is first and foremost a family resort and our guests become a part of our extended family. It’s no wonder that many of the couples married here return year after year, often with their growing families. Begin your life together with a romantic dream wedding at our beautiful resort. And welcome to the family!
