A spring Vermont vacation means...
late-season skiing, an Easter Egg Hunt, maple syrup and trout fishing.
As the snow melts and the days become warmer, it is nice to see the rebirth of our wildflowers, green grass, and perennials. Spring is our off-season and we offer low rates on our cabins for that perfect Vermont vacation!
Skiing? Yes, as winter turns to spring our area offers some of the best spring skiing in Vermont and continues through mid April. Take advantage of the great discounts of an off-season Vermont vacation at Sterling Ridge with skiing at nearby Smugglers Notch and Stowe Mountain Resort.
Spring brings a wonderful aroma to the air from the steam coming from maple sugar houses. There are many sugar houses to visit where one can see the sugaring process and get a fresh taste of maple syrup. At the end of April, St. Albans hosts the Vermont Maple Festival. This quintessential small town experience, features a parade, fun for the kids, maple syrup competitions and of course confections and maple products of all types to sample and purchase. Another wonderful event of this season is our annual Easter Egg Hunt here at Sterling Ridge Log Cabins. This will be our 4th year and in 2015 it was featured on local Vermont TV station Fox 44 with Alayna Pinto. This event welcomes guests and the community to celebrate spring with fun gifts, candy and lots of other surprises. Egg hunters explore the resort’s trails looking for eggs and hoping to find one of a few ‘golden eggs’ which contain various prizes such as 50% off your next stay! A “5 and under field” for the younger egg seekers was added in 2015 and turned out to be a big hit with the little ones!
April also begins the trout fishing season; so put away your skis and grab your fishing pole to fish the Lamoille and Brewster rivers. Green Mountain Troutfitters, just down the road, offers a guide service and the equipment to make any fishing trip more fun.
